Freya Bryan is an Account Handler at PIB Insurance Brokers in Derby.. Like many others, she fell into insurance but hasn’t looked back since starting her career in the industry two years ago. Freya tells us more about her career, a newfound hobby, some fantastic achievements and meeting a celebrity. Over to you Freya…
Tell us about yourself?
I have lived in a small town in Nottinghamshire called Kirkby in Ashfield the majority of my life except for when I was at university, which was in Derby. I have recently joined PIB in Derby, but I do have two prior years’ experience in the insurance industry working at a brokerage in Nottinghamshire.
Before joining the insurance industry, I worked in hospitality and customer service at McDonalds whilst studying at college and university. After finishing studying, I still didn’t know what I wanted to do and then I happened to come upon a vacancy which ultimately led me into this industry…
What do you do in your current role?
I am an Account Handler and work alongside the Account Executives to ensure they have everything necessary to be able to speak with the client and hopefully renew the policy with us. A lot of organisational skills are put into this role, and you need to ensure that you are on top of your game always!
What attracted to you to PIB as a career destination?
The idea of coming into a company that is expanding and growing quickly was very intriguing to me. I needed a change and thought that this route would be the best one for me.
Best thing about being part of PIB?
I would say the best thing about being a part of PIB would definitely be the culture. Everyone is lovely and professional, and I am 100% glad I came to this company.
What does collaboration mean to you?
I would say collaboration means coming together to work towards and achieve a desired outcome.
Best careers advice you’ve been given or would give?
Take every opportunity that is available to you!
How do you relax outside of work – any interesting hobbies or talents?
I like to relax by listening to music, watching YouTube videos, spending time with family and friends! I have also recently got into a hobby of making resin items such as key rings, coasters, trinket trays, and ash trays. Did you enjoy reading Freya’s story?
