PIB Group has reached a milestone of £550,000 raised for Project Hope, its exclusive partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, with backing from the PIB Community Trust.
The Group is on a mission to meet a £1m fundraising target to support groundbreaking research into dementia and associated diseases of the brain, and bring help and hope to those affected.
Chairman of the PIB Community Trust Nigel Salisbury shares an update on Project Hope:
“We are delighted to have achieved this initial target of raising £550,000 for Project Hope, helping to fund research into dementia and other diseases of the brain.
“The funds raised by PIB Group to date will cover the full cost of a five-year research project at the University of Dundee led by Dr Chris Henstridge, which is in its third year.
“The PIB Community Trust is playing a key role in this, having pledged a total of £100,000 in 2025 alone, and the response by our teams, business partners and supporters to the significant fundraising challenge set by Project Hope has been tremendous.
“We are incredibly grateful to those who have contributed towards this magnificent sum and taken part in fundraising challenges to date.
“Over the last few months, teams across the UK and Ireland have been getting involved by taking on organised walks, running, baking, stitching challenges, and more, to raise money for this vital research.
“So many inspiring stories have been shared by colleagues and on behalf of Alzheimer’s Society and PIB Group, thank you so much for all your support.
“But the story doesn’t end there. Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer, and more than one million people are living with the effects of the disease. And of course, it is global in its reach and overwhelming in its impact - on those living with it, those caring for them, and the healthcare systems trying to support them.
“So, we have decided to raise the target and pledge a total of £1m towards the work of Alzheimer’s Society, not only to bring hope to sufferers through research, but also to bring help to those living with this cruel disease and those who care for them.
"It will take a society for us to beat dementia and we’re very proud to be among the largest contributors to the industry-wide movement, Insurance United Against Dementia.
“With warmest thanks to all our supporters and between us let’s help bring this cruel disease to an end.”
