PIB Group, a global insurance broker and the fifth largest in Spain, continues its expansion on the Iberian Peninsula with the integration of five new brokerages across two markets.
Schippers (Tenerife), Manuel Torres Cortegoso Correduría de Seguros (Vigo), Alba-Vera (Seville), and Augusta Bilbilis (Zaragoza) have all joined PIB Group Iberia.
They are joined by the arrival of Portugal’s Vitorinos Group, a leading insurance brokerage firm with more than 50 years’ experience and €80 million in gross written premiums, in a deal agreed in January 2025. This deal marks PIB’s entry into the Portuguese market.
These acquisitions, closed over the past month, represent a significant step forward in the Group’s strategy for organic and inorganic growth in the Iberian Peninsula. These integrations enhance PIB Group Iberia’s technical capabilities in key lines such as motor, health insurance, multi-risk, and corporate insurance.
They also reflect the group’s strong commitment to regional proximity, technical specialisation, and customer-focused service. The four Spanish brokerages bring expertise, talent and well-established portfolios, enabling PIB to continue delivering tailored solutions for individual customers and corporate clients.
Martin Navaz, CEO of PIB Group Iberia, commented: “These integrations strengthen our growth strategy, bringing in talent, specialisation, and local presence. Each brokerage contributes deep knowledge of its insurance market and a strong track record, allowing us to continue building a distinctive value proposition for our clients.”
Onno Janssen, CEO of PIB Group Europe, commented: “Iberia is a key market in PIB Group’s growth strategy. Our entry into Portugal marks an important step towards consolidating ourselves as an Iberian organisation. The addition of Schippers, Torres, Alba-Vera and Augusta Bilbilis is a significant milestone in our ambition to build a network of brokerages with strong local roots and a shared vision focused on the client and operational excellence in Spain.”
