PIB Group Ltd (‘PIB’) has welcomed Jo Payne as the new Chief People Officer and member of the PIB Group Executive team. Her arrival is one of a recent series of exceptional hires and movements in preparation for further international expansion and to build a leading specialist and diversified pan-European insurance distribution business.
Jo joins from Clear Channel International to assume the position following a detailed handover period with Fiona Andrews who retires at the end of 2022.
Brendan McManus, Group Chief Executive Officer for PIB Group commented: “I’d like to give a warm PIB welcome to our new Chief People Officer, Jo Payne who brings extensive leadership qualities and organisational development capabilities with an international focus. She joins us at a pivotal moment when our people and collaborative culture will be critical in driving PIB into our next phase of growth. Jo will take over the reins of our People function, which Fiona Andrews has developed from the ground-up since our inception in 2015. I’d like to thank Fiona for her dedication, contribution and counsel, which will continue in her capacity as a Trustee of our charitable initiative. Jo’s arrival completes our plans for the Executive Team, so that we’re all set for delivering on our commitments in 2023 and beyond.”
Jo’s career spans over two decades, having discovered a passion for working in the People function at Standard Chartered Bank, then fully immersing herself in the profession at T-Mobile for several years.
PIB Group now adds to her extensive experience following a nine-year tenure at the media company, Clear Channel International. For almost six years as Chief People Officer, Jo led all aspects of people and culture across the Group’s international portfolio. This included galvanizing the organisation in preparation for its listing and subsequent transformation programme. Other senior positions held included Global HR and Talent Director, as well as International Talent Director.
Alongside this, Jo is a Non-Executive Director for Famn UK, a coaching consultancy that is home to an experienced collection of coaches, psychologists and facilitators who thrive on working with individuals to provoke change.
Jo Payne, Chief People Officer for PIB Group commented: “Passion, pace and people are some of the essential characteristics of a business that I’m naturally drawn to, which made PIB Group an obvious choice as my next career destination. Their growth story is nothing short of phenomenal and the plans for the future are exciting, particularly thanks to the quality of individuals and teams who bring PIB’s strategy to life at all levels. I’m absolutely delighted to be joining as Chief People Officer and can’t wait to meet my new 3600 colleagues. I’d like to thank Fiona who has ensured a seamless transition for both our new adventures.”
Fiona Andrews has enjoyed a successful career for more than forty years as a business leader with a proven track record in the insurance industry. She will remain an investor in PIB Group, as well as a valued member of the Board of Trustees for PIB Community Trust which donates grants to local charities and community initiatives spanning the UK and Europe.
Fiona Andrews commented: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Jo Payne to PIB Group and wish her every success in her new role as she prepares to take our people agenda to new heights. PIB is a special business with real soul, which is exactly why we have been able to attract someone of Jo’s calibre. I look forward to seeing PIB continue to grow and will remain a close friend of the business.”
